Just found this site and hoping to get some questions answered. I purchased a 1949 3/4 ton Chevy just about one year ago. The truck spent most of it's life as a farm vehicle in Appomattox, Virginia. Mostly original equipment, but of course needs lots of work. No real experience with antique trucks, but as a boy I assisted my father and my older brother with a 1941 Plymouth business coupe and 1953 MGTD restorations. My brother still owns the MG.

Bear bones, welcome to the Stovebolt. Many guys here who love the 3/4 ton. Working on a 41 Plymrod and a 53MG sure says your not new to getting your hands greasy. Lots of knowledge here and guys willing to share and teach. Post questions in the best forum and you'll get plenty of help. Also watch for other bolters from your area. There are many here from the Va. area.
Good luck and keep us posted on whats happening.

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you smile

Hi Bearbones, welcome. Your area has a huge loyal following of these old trucks. I even joined them for an event a few weeks ago. Check out the ODSS section further down the page. This is quite a large site, just check it out first and see where best to post your questions. Good luck.
