I just got my Rochester B, and did a mock install just to adjust the idle and mix. It runs great, but I can't figure out how to install the choke cable. I see where the cable terminates, in the brass block with the set screw, but can't find where the cable clamps to. Also where does the throttle return spring go? I don't see any obvious location.

You have to find the correct combination cable clamp that attaches to the carb under the rear right screw (as it sits on the carb) which is one of the four screws that holds the top on the carb. The clamp has two places to clamp both cables to it so it will function on the carb. You just need use one carb for choking and throttling.

Like Tex. says there should be a bracket under one of the screws that hold the air horn on. Some have a bracket for one cable & some have a bracket that supports a throttle cable also. The spring goes on a hook on the verticle rod under the manifold down to a bracket under an oil pan bolt.

Thanks guys. I only have one cable (choke) and the throttle rod going to the carb. I don't have either the choke cable/bracket or the spring bracket down at the oil pan. What do they look like and where can I find them?

Put an ad in the parts wanted section. There are plenty of them around.

not to hijack the post - but what is the second cable for? I know the choke cable, but what is the other one? Does it need to be hooked up?

Farmer - 2nd cable is the hand throttle, not needed if you don't want it
