Hello all,

Being new here at the forum I thought it would be nice to give a short introduction of myself and the truck I have.
My name is Jean-Paul and I'm living in the Netherlands. Yes I'm Dutch. So that also explains why sometimes my English could be a bit of, we normally speak Dutch.
I have a Chevrolet 3600 from the year 1948. It was imported from the state in 2005 after which it went trough an extensive restoration. Now that is almost finalished I'm looking at a few upgrades to make driving a bit more relaxed. And also that my wife can drive in the truck. Yes I know, never let your wife drive in your truck :dang: Looking now for power steering were I would like to keep it as much stock as possible. It's hard, or perhaps even impossible to find something for a 3600. Also I would like to change the gearing by replacing the ring and pinion. And that is perhaps even a more difficult mission. I would like to have a bit higher cruising speed. The higways here are for 75 miles/h and to get along with the traffic a minimum of 65 would be nice.
So, will spend a lot of time on Stovebolt to hopefully find some ideas and solutions. And, if someone reading this already has a suggestion, it's more then welcome

Hi and welcome. I'm almost Dutch myself. My parents came to Canada and had me soon after, so I learned Dutch (achterhoeks) before I learned English. Welcome to the Stovebolt, Jean-Paul. You will find a lot of knowledge and information here. The key is to be patient and let all the "tribal elders" weigh in on things. Guys here are great about helping.

Found already a few interesting articles on changing gears and power steering for a 3600.
Finding the part here in Holland will be very difficult. But hopefully with some help from the Stovebolt forum I can find them in the Us and let them ship.
By the way, my truck comes from Sacramento. That's the last place it was before it left for The Netherlands.

I see you've already met some of the 'gang'.

I'm just over the North sea from you in Scotland,and like you was worried about parts sourcing and availability when I first got my truck.
