I have a 1958 3/4 ton longbed very good cab and clip.
took bed off as was bad.so I have a pretty good short bed fleetside bed.is it feasible to cut the 9.5 inches
out of the frame behind the cab to make it a shortbed ?? then cut rest off back.

Might be cheaper and a lot less effort to find a short bed truck frame $300 or a long stepside bed for 3-400.

If you cut your frame you need to cut your drive shaft and run new brake lines. Also you might be limiting potential buyers if you decide to sell. It is your truck so only you can really answer that question.

Also, there are folks out there looking for long frames. It would be a shame to kill one of what they don't make any more.
