So I am fiddling around with my 1952/53 Chevy Howard Knapp truck and as always cant wait to get it rolling....been thinking about something to do after this one is running....I got it home in April of 2014, dragged in the garage in October of 2014...it is now March of 2015...he is still not running yet but I am already thinking about getting rid of it...
So how long do you folks keep your trucks once you get them up and running????
Any insight would be great...

I am actually planning to reduce some of my own inventory by selling one of my completed vintage Mustangs. Mustang friends are shocked by the news, but it's life and I truly love my truck.

I go in spurts depending on money and if I am busy doing yard work or not. No idea when I will turn loose of Ole, I know my son has no interest in my stuff. Steve

There's a bit of a story that goes with my coupe. This hits the high spots. It's more of a family member than a toy.

I love finding them and refreshing them back to life. If I kept everyone since retirement, I would have about 12-13. So for whatever reason, you want to sell and get another, that's as fun as keeping an heirloom. Either way you're a hoarder or a flipper. To me it's kind of nice to know I've got 12-13 "children" out there being enjoyed by someone. It's sometimes all about where you live and how much space you have and if "you know who" is good with having 2,3,4......... | | | | Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 1,971 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 1,971 | Money goes into the car/truck/motorcycle fund....but never comes out. Two of them I originally planned on keeping. The third one I bought for a song to be restored and sold to finance the restoration of one of the keepers. Then my son decided he wanted a truck. So now I am keeping all 3 in the family. Couldn't be happier. Carl Hoarder

One thing is for certain--if I still have them when I draw my last breath, they will immediately belong to someone else the second that occurs! Got married again, then divorced again - still have the truck. March 21 of this year was the 30th anniversary of its purchase. Though in the 4 years I have owned my truck .....I cannot count the offers I have had to buy! Some of my friends have heard the offers and said I was nuts for not selling! One guy told me whatever price I wanted, he would pay.

I like the "having." 23 Years a daily driver and counting. I won't sell it even after they take my keys away.
