Can someone tell me the bolt size for the hood latch on a Chevy 3100?
1 is 1/4 x 20, but the other 3 are something else. The nuts that are welded oo appear to be original.

It has been a while but I don't think there were any welded bolts on the truck. They usually are captive.

There are 4 nuts attached to the underside of the latch panel. These appear to be original. Are those called captive?

There are four 'cages' spot welded to the underside of the upper
baffle, the nuts are loose and held in place by folding in the
four sides of the cage. So yes, they are a captive 1/4-20
square nut. The original screws would have been 1/4-20 x 1/2"
binding head clutch drive screws.

Update on the hood latch bolts. A PO had welded some size nuts (must have been metric). I solved the problem with a 1/4 x 20 tap. thanks for the help Denny.
