You can get a four barrel manifold for these engines. Also, they make a manifold for two and three single barrel carbs. | | | | | Joined: Jan 2002 Posts: 36 Member | | Member Joined: Jan 2002 Posts: 36 | For your info I tried a old 2 / 1 barrell intake on my 235 and had altogether way to much trouble with it, so I went w/ a Clfford water heated intake , works great . I used a edlbrock 500 cfm, the 2 best things I 've bought for it so far. You can put 2 or 4 barrel on them, and they have intakes for 2 carbs. Go to ;www.cliffordperformance.com

It doesn't look the best, we did it on my friend's truck. One project in the works is to machine our own adapters, cut the mounts off the manifold, and weld the new adapters on.

I often wondered about modifying a regular manifold to accept a two barrel. Would you still need an insulator like the one barrel had? | | | | | Joined: Jun 2000 Posts: 454 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jun 2000 Posts: 454 | Just curious, I really don't care, but what the heck is this thread doing in the RUST forum????

Yes, your flow will be somewhat restricted, but that does help keep the torque up. What we are looking at is to cut the current plates off at the tube on the manifold and make 2 bbl plates with larger openings and weld them on. Currently he does not have insulators under his Webers.
