I am working on the old 1956 235 with an 848 head. I have the original electric temp sending unit which i am also installing a mechanical sending unit. I want to use both but i do not want to have it look crappy.

My question is is there another port thats available on the motor or is there a clean looking "t"?

My goal is to use the original v cluster the way its designed and and to have my 2" gauges under the dash.

I just thought about it i also want to do my oil pressure the same i just do not want to "t" off a "t" thing. Any body got any ideas

you can't really use a T for a temp sending unit. They really need to be in the head just like they are, or you don't get an accurate reading. The oil pressure on the other hand works just fine with a T. you could put the T under the dash right on the gauge.

A 261 thermostat cover has 2 threaded outlets.

Brokenhead that's a great idea i do not know why i did not think of that on the oil pressure gauge.

Cletis i did not see an extra 1/2" port on my 235 thermostat housing like whats on the 261 but i have an extra 1/2" port on the water pump. The top 1/2" hole i used for the heater line and intake hot water line. The bottom port is plugged off i can use that for the electric sending unit for the original gauge. I think the water pump has 2 each 1/2" ports. I have to check when i get home. Thanks guys. I need to look outside the box.
