It seems to work fine, it hasn't been on longer than about 7 months but still looks good. :p

| | | | | Joined: Feb 2001 Posts: 41 Member | | Member Joined: Feb 2001 Posts: 41 | I noticed the other day that Caswell Plating ( http://www.caswellplating.com/) carries a Nickel plating kit called "Copy Chrome" that uses cobalt to make it harder and bluer like chrome. Don't know the first thing about it, maybe someone else around here has tried it. Kits start around $100. They have 2 now, the one I bought is the cheaper one now. I also have the heat lamp to cure the larger pieces. I think its worth the money.

You don't use much powder so a can goes a long way. You use less powder than I thought you would use. The part you powder has to be down to bare metal. They come out looking real good.

If you shoot a clear coat on top of these it etches into the top coat & turns it into a silver/grey color which defeats the purpose all together. Time to step up to the plate & pay your local chroming guy to do a job that will last for many years. | | |
