Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jan 2009 Posts: 54 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jan 2009 Posts: 54 | I am wiring my 56 Chevy pickup after taking it apart a few years ago. I am trying to figure out where the wires for the turn signals plug in to. I found several wiring diagrams but none show the turn signal wires. Even the service manual I have omits the replacement of the switch. Any clear diagrams out there? | | | | | Joined: Mar 2014 Posts: 195 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Mar 2014 Posts: 195 | Just a quick google search: Is this what you are looking for? I have a seven wire switch on my 51 truck with this wiring: Click. Colors do vary from unit to unit.

If not you may have some rewiring to do. Turn signal tech tip may help. | | | | | Joined: Oct 2013 Posts: 219 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Oct 2013 Posts: 219 | I just worked on my turn signal/brake light wiring. If you are using your original wiring harness the 8 wire plug should be dropping down from behind your column from behind the dash. If you are using an original or new original replacement turn signal switch harness the color of the wires will just need to line up (turn signal housing Guide D2-53). If you are using an aftermarket one that might not be the case. | | | | | Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 Cruising in the Passing Lane | | Cruising in the Passing Lane Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 | signals were an optional accessory, found in the accessory installation manual - factory wiring diagram about the 4th page Bill | | | | | Joined: Aug 2012 Posts: 566 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Aug 2012 Posts: 566 | Here is the way my 1956 Chevy 3100 was wired I made this cheat sheet
