On my 59 Apache truck, first click on lights turn on parking lights. When head lights come on Parks go off. To Add turn signals need to change bulb sockets ??
Need to also run another wire from switch to socket ??
Tail lights are already set up for dual filament bulbs.
Any helpful hints.

Thanks,

Park lights are supposed to go out when the headlights come on on '59s.

If the front sockets are not dual filament then you will need to change them or add another set of lights for the signals. And yes, they will need a dedicated wire from the turn signal switch.

On my 58, the park/turn lights on the front already had a dual element set up, but only the park light wire was used since my truck wasn't equipped with turn signals.

Both wires were there, but only the park lamp wire was used. Both elements ground through the assembly mount.

i dont know much about the 59's but on my 51 we changed the park lights to turn signal lights after we changed the headlights to h4 lights.

But if you can have dual bulb sockets, just plug the blinkers in!

welcome to the garage, drop by the DITY or Welcome sections and give us some of your story, we always like pictures too, if you've got any up!

the factory accessory signal instructions are here for '57, pretty much the same for '59 .... as Roy said, your truck should have the proper sockets
