I'm looking for two items: 1) The metal piece that sits on top of the spring and encloses the frame bumper which is then held in place by the two U-bolts. 2) The wedge that sits between the bottom of the spring and the front axle spring pad.

Where can I find these items, are they even out there anymore? Is there someone who can fabricate them for less than the $2-3K my local machine shop owner estimated? The frame bumper enclosure has a part number on it which appears to be 3655328.

Would appreciate any help. Thanks.

The wedges are readily available in assorted degrees. Look for an alignment shop that works primarily with large trucks with beam axles, they should be able to get them.

That is the bumper retainer per the FAM. Your number is correct. You might check with [email protected] if the usual catalogs don't list it.
He's got lots of solid axle stuff.

The wedges are call "caster wedges" and are available from several online retailers. (edit: search e-bay)

Thickest part goes in the back, the top of the kingpins lean towards the cab, bottom towards radiator.

Standard hight trucks normally use 2 degree. If its lowered you might add 1 or even 2 more degree. To little and the steering has no feel, floats around and is hard to keep straight. If you go to much, they become hard to turn at slow speeds. The weight of the truck pushing down on the axle is what returns the steering to straight ahead, by adding more caster, you tilt the axle which acts like more weight thus returning to center much quicker, but at the same time, you have to lift all that weight every time you turn a corner.

You may have to narrow them up if your springs are small width.

Are you looking for the bumper #7.422 in this picture?

Or is it the plate that holds these ( https://www.chevsofthe40s.com/dept/Front+Suspension/cat/Rubber+Bumpers.html ) bumper down?
