The cab lights on my 68 c50 are apparently attached to the dimmer on my head light switch. When I dim the dash lights my cab lights dim also. Is this normal or has someone hooked something up wrong?

Thats not normal. Someone probably just hooked them up wrong. Marker lights were not required in all states for trucks that did not run interstate. It is common for all kinds of jerry rigging to be done on older trucks.

Sounds like somebody wired it to the rheostat, instead of the Aux. terminal. Should be a super easy fix.

It takes an awful big dog to weigh a ton.

Is there a spot in the fuse box where they would be hooked to the rheostat or somewhere else? Thanks.

They get hooked to the headlight switch as do the dash lights (which are on the dimmer). The Cab light wire just needs to be moved off of the dash light terminal and on to the running light terminal to fix it...as Willy said easy!
