Hello, its been a long time since I've posted here! Good to see my user name is still valid!
Anyway, I did this swap years ago with my 1948 Chevy 3100, and am looking to do it again with a 56 3200. I want to replace the three on the tree with a factory 4 speed with creeper gear. I know it will bolt on at the engine, can't remember if I'll need a different crossmember or ujoint at the rear? Any info is appreciated! I already have the trans out if a 53 that had a torque tube.

Hy Blue66, you will need to change the rear output cover to an open drive type and find the appropriate output yoke for the transmission, I'm not sure if the "U" joint is larger than the 1/2 ton one or not.

I know on Ad trucks the u joint is different. Anyone know if the u joint for a half ton 3 speed is different than the half ton 4 speed?
