anybody have a diagram for a 56 235 where the oil pressure gauge screws into the block ....changing from 216 to 235 and need to know where the oil filter lines and gauge goes....thanks

On my 1942 1.5, Its 261 has the oil pressure line teeing of the oil filter line.

They are the same.

Here us a picture from my '57 235.

The line closest to the block was added as an aux oil line to the valve train. The middle line is to the pressure gauge. The line furthest from the block goes to the oil filter.

Hey Maybellene, what's the purpose of the aux oil line? I have seen it a couple times before on other trucks and my truck has this too. I seem to only see it used when an oil filter is added. Does it have to do with the type of oil filter used?

The aux oil line is a back-up bringing oil up to the rocker assembly in case the feeder tube from the oil pump gets clogged with sludge, a common problem with these engines.

It has nothing to do with the oil filter. In fact, the oil filter should help to eliminate sludge.
