I have seen it a couple times before on other trucks and my truck has this too. I seem to only see it used when an oil filter is added. Does it have to do with the type of oil filter used? | | | | Joined: Jul 2010 Posts: 592 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Jul 2010 Posts: 592 | The aux oil line is a back-up bringing oil up to the rocker assembly in case the feeder tube from the oil pump gets clogged with sludge, a common problem with these engines.
It has nothing to do with the oil filter. In fact, the oil filter should help to eliminate sludge.
