I mean yourself, not paying someone to do it. Seems like it wouldn't be that difficult but, looking for feedback before attempt.

Do a search of threads............it's been a while, though. Work was done by "Kansas Kustoms" or something like that..........I know I am wrong about the name, but at least I remembered the topic!

I've been welding professionally for over 25 years, and I'd be a little apprehensive about the outcome if I decided to modify a manifold. Better find some junk cast iron, and do a lot of practicing before you tackle the real thing! Jerry

I have welded cast iron (for paying customers), but I was supervised and the shop was set-up for it. It's all technique.......but most exh. manifolds are cast with poor material. This is not the case with GM's old manifolds.

I'm in the navy and on my base here in San Diego there's a welding school. Back in the fall I did the 2 month long TIG school. While I'm probably very rusty with the TIG torch (it's not actually part of my job in the navy, I just talked 'em into letting me do it) I've kept in touch with the instructors. The 2 guys that ran the school were some amazing welders. So, I thought I'd swing by there with my exhaust manifold after a bit of feedback from the forum. The manifold I wanna split is my 239 Pontiac.
