OK here I go trying to get by with cheap stuff again. once before I posted a question about the correct wiring diagram to get an old signal stat to work on my 61 GMC and a helpful guy sent the correct info right away and I got it hooked up and it does work with the exception that I only have one stoplight working. since I have both signals working correctly front and rear there isn't much doubt the wires are correct. and it uses the same wire for brakes so the only thing I can figure is there is a defect in the old unit. a friend gave me an un-used KD 723 unit. but it is out of the box and has no diagram. so if anybody has info on the hookup and whether I actually does feed both the turn signals and brakes I'd appreciate hearing it. thanks. ( this thing may not work like I want it to because it only has 5 wires besides the one from the power to the flasher- and if one of the 5 is ground that just leaves 4 so in my mind I think it would need one more from the brake switch to be able to work brake lights as well as turn signals? ) BTW I finally took time yesterday and adjusted the valves on the old 305 and it sure idles better and probably makes more power. likely never been adjusted since 61.
