Both of my parking brake cables are broken. Has anyone had any luck finding replacements or will I be building my own? I have a 46 2-ton Chevy.

Thanks,

Mine were rusted on my 47 1.5 ton. I got new ones made. Any cable shop can make new ones. What I learned:
Aim for original spec inner. The shop made lighter ones, they operate under a lot of tension, mine are elastic, it doesnt help.
Careful of the cast iron mount brackets on the backing plate and chassis, they are not strong and will split if you force them open too far. Which isnt very far at all.
you will nedd to reuse the y- shaped threaded fittings for the pins at each end. Ths cable shop will have the threaded cable ends.
Add rubber boots at each end to keep dirt out.
and good luck.

anyoldiron, interesting to me you had them made at a cable shop. Never heard of a cable shop. Tried yellow pages and didn't find anything. What would you search for or how would you find one?
