I got a tip(thanks Spanky)about a GMC 450 tandem axle truck for sale in Arkansas. I went to go look and came home with more trucks then I had planned. I bought a 48-50 chevy, the GMC 450, and my buddy bought a late 20s early 30s chevy truck. It has chevy symbols on the block and exhaust manifold. I have two more to go get this weekend a 48-50 GMC 300 or 350 and a single axle lowboy to go behind my 640 GMC. I know I have some over hang but it was flagged and I had lights on it before I took the pictures. I figured you all would enjoy seeing these trucks saved from the crusher.
Thanks
Brad

P.S. dad got a new toy too. He bought the GMC General to build a show truck out of. I will post pictures as we start.

I am always glad to see larger GMC trucks saved from the crusher. Even if you don't restore them, maybe someone in the future will. Once crushed, they will be rebar within a week.

Beat me to them. Was wanting to go look at them, but was working in Nebraska till last week. Glad someone will save them, at least for parts, maybe more. Jim

I think it is a truckstall or however you say it kit. It has a tag in the glove box with all the axle numbers and ratios. I will take a picture of it and post if you would like. I honestly just want the right front fender off of the 450 for a project I am working on.
Thanks
Brad

Thanks for showing it. I wonder what this truck was bought new for. I havent run on to many trucks older than the late 60s with tandem axles.

Here's a video,of a '52 G.M.C. 450 Tandem. It has a vacuum switch,for wet/dry pavement,but no HI/Lo. This one is equipped with ,(I think),a 5-speed. Walking-beam suspension,and hydraulic brakes http://s1181.photobucket.com/user/willybickey/media/7-3-2013/MOV00219.mp4.html?sort=3&o=1.
