Can a good paint shop come real close to matching paint without any color codes or paint chips? For example, if I were to repair some rust spots on my rockers, would a paint shop be able to match and blend in only having the paint on the car to go by for color?
I was gonna paint my Pontiac but have decided to try and keep the paint I got for a few more years. It was repainted the original color a long time ago. It's a bit faded now from original so that's why I'm wondering about matching.

Yes....A good shop should be able to match the paint. What they can do is get thier paint supply company to scan the paint and they should be able to get an exact match. Good luck.
