So my question, is my side cover set up a one year only, or can I get a cover from and older truck that will fit (work) with my three speed?

However, you will need to use the L/R shift fork from the TF side cover as the shift fork on the AD trans is narrower to accommodate the narrower slider gear.

56 up (and 55 V-8's) used a different shifter box to allow clearance for the V-8 exhaust manifold. This should not be an issue with the 235.
