Hi as we head into the fall/winter here in the Northeast, I want to change my oil. What would be the recommended oil type for winter driving? The engine is the 283 V8.

Any other winter recommendations I should do? Thanks john

Any quality 10W30 will be just fine.

I use Stabil in the fuel if the vehicle is going to sit more than a couple months. Especially important if you live in a humid climate.

As for oil, I use Valvoline VR-1: https://www.stovebolt.com/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=1036547&page=1

VR-1 is good stuff, I use it as well. I believe it is available in a 10W30.

I use high zinc content oil that is necessary for older motors.
