I figured out last night this place is closer than I thought, just 40 miles over the mountain. I was imagining it further away and well north of I-64... which it is not.

Leaving here in a couple hours for a curvy ride over the mountain.

Grigg, I just looked @ your route via googleearth, that is one fine ride! A couple years ago I was travelling that road in the springtime, route 56, and saw 20-25 bicyclists, many with a Canadian Maple Leaf on their jersey. It turns out our local newspaper had an article about the Canadian National Olympic Cycling Team doing early spring training in our beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. Don't get me started on how cool Crabtree Falls are!

Safe journey to all.

Presidential command vehicle picking up shotgun rider Rich and travelling a pretty cool rural route down to the 'Bone. See y'all there!

Hello all, To say I'm jealous is an understatement! I can only picture riding through those mountains in those superb vehicles. Wish I was there! Enjoy the ride and festivities! Take care!

Well here's the scoop...no rain, no sprinkle, nada, nyet. Met great new 'bolters and reconnected with the old. Picked up Sweet, Mike R., Jim Brad and sister and did a rural route down to The DB. Dinner for 14 was set and much enjoyed by all.

Thanks to all for your effort to get there, thoughts out for Phil Jr. to have a safe trip home (brake trouble).

The company, the lunch out on the indoor patio by the roaring fire was very nice. It was a might cold, But, no rain. I'm proud to say I was the only one there holding the flag from Maryland. Somebody had to do it. Special thanks to Sweet for giving me a ride out. Beats driving out there alone.

Got all the way to Richmond before finding enough rain to wet the windshield. My son and I had a great time and saw lots of nice old trucks and owners and good food. I ran my old truck down I64 all the way to Richmond, gave it a good workout and survived to run another day. Good times to all. Larry

I made it home but had to stop twice to crack the brake line to let out pedal pressure. But none the less it was a great drive to and from and enjoyed the food, beer, and meeting new faces and seeing old.

Yeah it sure was cold and windy but being out in the "beer garden" with the real fire was nice. As always the DB delivers.

I took some photos John, but can't recall the log in. Let me know...

It was great to meet some folks at DB from Stovebolt after 3 years of asking questions to get my truck in road shape. I had to stop and spray some lube into the back of the speedometer when I got back to the interstate. It started squealing loud enough to over take the stereo! I enjoyed meeting the ODSS members and can't wait to do it again!

A couple of quick snapshots...

The lineup front and rear.

Some of the excellent company.

Thanks everyone for a wonderful day! And, Cosmo, thanks to your friend Rich for the info on the Walton's Store! Amazing stuff.

Looks like fun, especially with the mountain colors in the background. That would have been cool to have a huge fire inside!

Glad some of the new fellows got to come ... always good to see new faces. Sorry we could not make it.

We had drizzly-light rain all day long. We were able to get some mess cleaned up from the five days of construction in the house. We tested the "reverse stairs" with the wood stove. Oh man! That was the right move. The back of the house is warm as can be!

I added my pics from a great day. Had fun cruisin with Brother Roache, meeting new bolters and spending time with familiar faces. Somehow we managed to dodge the rain the entire day.

Thanks to those who came, hope it's a little less windy next time!

I just spoke with Tony, my contact from the DB. They were surprised how many of us showed up with the poor weather forecast.

Hope its better next time!
