The interior of my 57 is pretty much stripped bare, with just the new firewall insulation in place. I don't plan any serious mods except a radio cutout of,as yet undetermined, dimensions, and fully carpeted floor and kick panels,and carpeted rear wall, from the waist down. Seats will be buckets whenever I find a pair that will fit my long thighs. Before reassembly, I wish to paint the entire interior, but what color?? Most newer vehicles are some shade of flat gray or black, and that works for me, but I have never seen the interior/dash of a classic painted that way. In my old age I find that glare and reflections while driving are more distracting than in my youth, but I don't want a flat black interior that I will regret. For what its worth, I am planning to paint the outside bright yellow.
All opinions welcome.

Put the horse whips away, guys, I haven't cut it yet. The previous owner drilled holes for wider knobs, but I think it can be fixed without patching in a whole new panel. Talk to me about color, finish and glare

For my 2 cents it depends on what you want.. A bright yellow on the outside.. will be enhanced with a similar paint job on the inside. However, an arguement can also be made for a semi or gloss black on the inside. Personally I wouldn't go for grey. Wouldn't look right.
I probably would go for the all yellow look.. I'm partial to yellow though.

Green is easy on the eyes, and might compliment the yellow exterior... tan or brown would also sorta work. Flat black always looks like primer to me, as if the paint job was never completed. Perhaps a glossy grey for a more finished look?

Used a color to match my seatbelt retractor plastic--kinda' putty colored then had the paint store put in flattener to make it semi-gloss. Easy to keep clean. Looks nice with the stock '99 Suburban 2nd seat I have in place. '56 Chevy truck so used charcoal grey gravel guard to give the original pebble-grained finish on the top of dash. Nice non-glaring finish.

Just shot my 50's interior semi gloss black (NAPA acrylic enamel), looks good and has a nice contrast with the exterior code 82 RED, just my .02...

I would go buy a color wheel and find a color I like. Then see what matches.

My '54 is yellow and the interior is painted to match. I like the way it looks. It doesn't seem to glare either. I'm an old fart too.
