not sure if this is the correct spot for this but here goes

took the truck out for the first drive 1953 3600 frame off resto, pumpkin is out of a 67 or 68 chev pu, 54 car 235. brake drums are all new bearing are new.
it was a short distance but I drove it three times.
engine performed well however;
1. I had an 8 inch puddle of oil under the flywheel after I shut her down.
thought maybe the cork gasket needed to soak and swell?
2. the harmonic balancer looks like it's wobbling but I used hotrods tap system and it's bolted on tight.
3.a833 tranny is noisy in all gears yes there is oil in it.
4. there is a sound like one of the brake drums is rubbing on metal. very un-nerving. I jacked up the truck and spun all the wheels and could not duplicate the sound.
other than those I think everything is running well. it need an alignment I think as it tends to wander. a little hard to tell since I was on a frontage road.
any thoughts would be appreciated.

1. It could be a pan gasket leak and/or a rear main seal leak and/or oil coming down from a valve cover leak? Try to see how high up the leak starts.

2. A harmonic balancer can still wobble after applying HRL's tap/bolt. The balancer hole could be distorted (mine was). Take off the fan belt and see if you can wobble the balancer.

UPDATE

I snugged up the oil pan bolts and now have no puddle.

the harmonic balancer is tight.

the right front brake drum (repop) was rubbing on the back plate. I had it machined down to match the old drum. no noise now.

tranny is still noisy.

going to take her in for a front end alignment.

You mentioned that it wandered. My '53 3600 did that when I got it and I found that one of the front leaf springs had broken at a shackle. I replaced all front springs and shocks and now it is perfect. I also found that my steering box was dry and needed adjustment and I filled it with lube (Corn head lube - John Deere)and that made a huge difference as well.
Just thoughts.

I had the springs done at Waco spring and clutch.
I rebuilt the steering box myself. (that maybe the problem!!)
new shocks all around.
I got new bearings and a different tie rod from one of the bolters that lived in ft worth.
i'm thinking with all the disassembly and re-assembly it needs an alignment.

I changed my king pins as well when I had it aligned.
