Fenton Intake Manifold?
Fenton Exhaust Manifolds?
The Fenton dual intake manifold gets rubbed by the 1954 3-speed shifter linkage (47-55, I would guess) .

Was at a car show last week and found a 49 3100 with this setup. Owner just took a grinder to linkage and trimmed it back a little. Solved his problem - and hopefully mine in near future. | | | | | Joined: Mar 2005 Posts: 1,513 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2005 Posts: 1,513 | I accomplished this by cutting the arms and extending them in a dogleg fashion to avoid the intake. It took quite a bit of trial and error to get things correct but has worked well. See here. This picture shows where I cut the arms.

You did a beautiful job, and confirmed my thoughts about how this could be done. | | | | | Joined: Mar 2005 Posts: 1,513 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2005 Posts: 1,513 | Thanks for the compliments guys. Oldschool; just tack the arm extensions and jump in the truck and check the throw of the shifter. You'll probably need to do do this a few times until you're happy. Also I scared up another shift box and rods to modify keeping my originals just in case. IIRC I cut about 2-3" off the rods.
