I looked and did not see gate times and at other show parking is sometimes offered off grounds. Sorry to be a pain but do not want to drive two hours and find out that I must wait a hour or so to get in.

Jay -- It's a very casual show. Follow Cosmo's directions but turn in at the first entrance to the fairgrounds -- they will direct you to parking. They will be up and running by 0800, if not a little earlier. Once you get parked, be sure to walk down to the south end of the fairgrounds (where the transporter parking/truck entrance is. Look for the RV/Motorcoach with the Stovebolt Flag in the front window and the yellow '46 COE parked next to it. That will be Camp Stovebolt. Anyone milling about in that area will be one of us.

Everyone else ... Firewood -- getting some directions for tomorrow. In the meantime, everyone bring a pallet! Billy, check that road directly across from our entrance. Go cruise down there and see if there's any deadfall/storm debris. Blaine says they've been pushing alot to the sides of the road in that area. He says they been cracking down and they're not even allowed to bring wood over the mountain (into the Valley).

Gate to the camping end of things, south, is always open, no gate.
We generally try to all park together on the show field, usually the north end of the grounds, but no telling for sure until it happens.

Camp Stovebolt is officially set up. We already have neighbors that claimed half our electric but it's first come first served. Lots of activity for Wednesday night. Light rain now.
Bummer about the wood. I will do some scouting in the am. Thought about bringing a pallet or two.
See ya'll when you get here

Just got home. I had fun meeting you guys at the show Fri and Sat. I'm terrble with names and faces so if I see you again and call you by somebody else's name don't shoot me, I'll get a handle on it as time goes by. I really enjoyed seeing all your trucks, made me feel good about mine. Next time the 58 will be in attendance. So thanks for the welcome guys. Larry

Nice to meet you Larry.
Another great Winchester! Glad to have been able to share it with all that attended and sure missed those of you that couldn't make it. The weather worked out perfect and there was a great turnout of trucks of all makes and models with a strong contingent of Stovebolts present. II always look forward to this show and can't wait until next year although, it's not too early to start talking about the ATHS National Show in York PA. next May. Everyone should mark the dates on your calendar. You won't want to miss this one.

Thanks to all my Stovebolt Brothers for a fantastic weekend.

Same here -- great meeting Brothers I'd not yet met and it was good for the soul to relax and have a good time among old trucks, old friends and old scotch (Thanks Cosmo!)

Congrats to Team Roache and winning the Great Stovebolt Golf Cart Pull for the third year in a row! You overcame an illegal and unsportsmanlike modification (sudden addition of 250 lbs over the axle) at the last minute by Team Marlow to defend the trophy!

The trip (both directions) was fabulous -- you just couldn't ask for a better time in a Stovebolt than to be cruising rural/scenic Northwern Virginia in a pair of AD Stovebolts (and going too fast ... smile ). Charlie's new rear axle gearing ennabled him to cruise at 62-65 comfortably and an ocassional dash to 70-72 smile. Not too shabby for a 65-year old babbit pounder. He lost his breath a little going up the mountain, but the Green Machine gave him a little nudge and he summited just fine.

Special Thanks:
Sweet -- Class A Wingman. Your knowledge of Robert's Rules is ... entertaining ... wink
Billy Marlow -- thanks for food, camping, accommodations, parking and smokes!
Cosmo -- Without your sage leadership, none of us would be worthy. You are the leading EastCoast sales Rep for Stovebolt Apparel!
Amtrak joe -- Thanks for the great photography support.

Let's start talking York!

Wish I could have made it. The event is so close, but just couldn't get out of the bluegrass festival. Sounds like you all have a great time without me....to no surprise. Maybe next year!

Clowns?? Did Mr. Hee-Haw-Haywagon just call *us* CLOWNS????

He's right, but still ...

Sorry for our abrupt departure, Jim -- I had a work crew coming that I really needed to be home for. As for my foot, despite having been used as a bumper in the golf cart demolition derby, the orthopedic surgeons say I stand a fairly good chance of getting some use back with reconstructive surgery and the bionic prosthetic

Mikey -- pictures soon!

Clowns? CLOWNS?
Hey, only my wife is allowed to call me that!

I forgot to give shout outs to the guys that contributed to the great fires we had every night, especially when it looked like we may not have had any at all. Blaine gets huge props for bringing all that wood from his job site, both Artie and Grigg came prepared with some seasoned dry oak that burned great, Artie and Mikey get props for going out and buying the Mother Load-even if it was a little green (it burned great once we got it going) and Larry gets the nod taking John Millimans suggestion a few posts ago
http://s1366.photobucket.com/user/M...oto_zps33a05c01.jpg.html?sort=6&o=15

The camp wouldn't have been the same without a nice fire so thanks for all your efforts!

You know, I saw that picture on John's camera and I asked him if that was a chair!!! I remember Joe saying he could bring "some wood" from the motel!! hehehe

I should have sent that 4 foot Snoopy dog as your fire starter. NUTS. Well, we'll use it here for the big burn out back ... soon, I hope.

You had great weather for a fire. Not so much today ...

One of these days I'm going to have time. The field already had a nice selection Thursday eve when I stopped by, It would have been to easy to talk myself into hanging out and wait for those present but had deliveries to make. Hoping for York, it ought to be fantastic.

Good Photographers take pictures.

Lazy, good-for-nothing drunks sit on their butts drinking beer and eating hamburgers.

Which one do you want to be?

okay so maybe that's a trick question ... smile

Joe,

Superb pictures, eye for detail and I daresay drama by the artistic camera and follow-up editing technician.

Well done, my truck pictures really floored me.

Many thanks,

Mr. President - Thank you for the kind words. It's not the straightest and shiniest that makes for the dramatic photograph. The best of photos force you to feel texture. Thats where i have the most fun.
