Can I interchange this with my 235, or do I need to look for a 62 on transmission, Flywheel and Bellhousing. Had one of these years ago in a C10 and it was a great performing lump. Many Thanks Rich | | | | Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 1,248 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 1,248 | The bell housings are different between a 235 and a 292 engine. You'd need to find a bell housing from a newer 6 cylinder such as a 230, 250 or 292 engine. Probably have to fabricate some engine mounts too. I believe the 292 engines all use side mounts....

A 1955-59 V8 bellhousing or a post-1962 truck bellhousing will be needed to adapt the engine to your truck. You will also need a flywheel and clutch from a late-model engine. Jerry
