I had 2 holes in my rear fender. they are side by side and they are right in the center just above the wheel well.
I filled em. I hope I did not need them.
Do you know what they may have been for? Thanks. | | | | | | Anonymous Unregistered | | Anonymous Unregistered | What year or series of truck? I guess they could be for a brace but I dont have the brace to make a comparison.
I did not think the rear fenders had a brace.
Does anyone have a good picture? I looked in the gallery but none show the area I am looking at well enough.

I eliminated the rivets and welded the brace to the fender through the holes.
Makes for a much cleaner look. | | | | | Joined: Apr 2002 Posts: 1,571 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Apr 2002 Posts: 1,571 | Yup, definately the brace...I like the welding idea - I might have to do that when I convert my one pickup bed into a trailer. | | | | | Joined: Jul 2003 Posts: 586 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jul 2003 Posts: 586 | Place a wanted ad in the Swap Meet. Someone will contact you with a set of braces to sell. Cecil........ | | | | | | Anonymous Unregistered | | Anonymous Unregistered | Okay I was talking about different hole. I also have those rivets, but I don't think I have the braces either. Does anybody have a picture of what the brace looks like? | | | | | Joined: Jan 2004 Posts: 255 Member | | Member Joined: Jan 2004 Posts: 255 | My 48 still has the original braces installed with the rivets, but I dont have pictures or a way to post them. The brace itself looks like a pressed c-shape that tapers as it gets to the outer edge of the fender. It attaches to the bed at the upper center screws that hold the fender on and to the lip of the fender with two small rivets. Hope that makes sense. I can take a picture this weekend and send to somebody that has a way to post if anybody wants. Ralph | | |
