There is one being offered to me. Its a 59 with a 4 speed and basically original. Some slight rust issues (bubbling) and the brakes and wiring recently redone. The engine is rebuilt but I have no idea if its a 6 or an 8. Thinking AD trucks I assumed it was a 6.
Have no idea of the value but I am not desperate to spend big on it.

so are you looking for price range, desirability, or .... sympathy

Step side or fleetside long bed or shortbed, big window or small, deluxe cab or standard, and what do you want to do with it?


If it is stock it will have straight axle leaf front end shoe brakes no power anything and will drive and ride like an old truck.

Task Force quad lights apear to be least desirable TF and TF appear less desirable than AD and 60 to 66. That's just from some shows and magazine watching over the years.

But if YOU like it, who cares?

All the old stuff is cool-what's it worth to you and is buyer willing to let it go for that?

Another thought-- if you decide you are not interested, let the board know about it...I for one might be interested in a running truck to drive around during the lengthy rebuild of mine...for the right price.

Thanks. I am still undecided. I don't need it but like it. I am happy with the 49 which I have had for eons.
Its a long box, big window, step side.
On the other hand a lady friend wants me to buy her 2006 Mustang which is in mint condition. Problem? Where to put everything!!

Out of all the TF are the best looking trucks.

I think Truckolet has it right! Task Force, and particulately the quad headlights, are the best.

Headlights are the thing that attracts what I buy.... 40 Cadillac, last of the headlights out of he fender and 24" long; 67 Cadillac, stacked quad headlights with a forward cant; and first year Firebord with quad headlights. When it came time for a truck, it was the character of the 58/59 (and the Apache name) that lead me to a '59.

You won't be disappointed if you get it!

I like the TF and in particular the 58-59's. But it doesn't seem like they get as much love as the AD's or the tri-five's or the 60-66's at shows and in magazines. Maybe it is just that there are not as many around since they represent only 2 years.

I am going chrome bezels, grille and front bumper to accent my quads, upgraded from the painted ones originally.

The quad light 60-66's are also cool, the GMC's kept the quads all the way to 66. I have seen 1 or 2 trucks go with an amber set of lights which I like, not sure it would fit the era for a 58-59, but on a 60's truck it works for me.

IMO all old trucks are beautiful. Saw a barn fresh Studebaker pickup with chrome reverse rims yesterday. Really sweet.
