The Stovebolt Site Forums The Parking Lot Big Bolts where are they different?

Someone please correct me if I am wrong, I believe the big bolt fenders are a bit wider and longer. I know for sure they have bigger wheel opening. My question is, where in the fender did they add the extra metal to get the big bolt fenders when considering them to it's little brother? I ask this cuz I have both and I can tell they are different, just can't figure out where they did it at

they did it at the stamping mill a differently formed piece of metal, they didn't 'modify' the smaller one, they designed a similar fender with different dimensions

Could a big bolt fender be sectioned off to repair the smaller ones? As stated I have both but my smaller ones have damage not the front outside is why I am asking

The big bolt fenders are 47, the little fenders are 52

Anything can be done, but not all things are feasible. By the time you narrow the fenders and try to close up the wheel hole, you could have found a lot of small fenders. If you have something like rust around the headlights, you could probably fabricate patch panels from the big fenders, but even that wouldn't be worth the effort.

Post an ad in the "swap Meet" section,"Parts for Sale",and see if you may find someone interested in a trade. If you end up selling them,put that money toward a set from a 1/2-1-ton. "Truck Round-Up" Magazine,is another source for parts. Many people own "Stovebolts",but don't know about this site. I see some COOL "Bolts" in there,all the time,but none from the "Gallery". I'm pretty sure you don't have to pay for the "Parts Wanted",in their mag,just a small amount for "Parts For Sale". New mag. every month. Ad's stay posted until item sells. Your fenders are out there somewhere...You just have to throw out some "Feelers". Good Luck!!

Sorry,this goes with the above "Parts for Sale" link. These fenders sell,(from the vendors), for $450/ea.,but seller's asking $600.00 for the pair! Savings of #300.00! Just one example of availability!
