Is there just the shackle mount for the rear of the cab on 1950 cabover ? I saw that somebody may have put some rubber material in there when I took it apart , the right side rear mount was broken and maybe somebody just put some "filler" in there since it was broken. when driving this truck the cab is bouncing and my kidney's and in pain now. lol.. I saw once where somebody from stovebolt showed pictures of them rebuilt but I cant find the darn tread....3B? Spanky? Anybody? thank you guys so much for all your help, Dan

I have recently put new bushings and pads in a 54/55 2-ton GMC COE which could very likely be different.

I was lucky that the rubber bushings and the two forward mounting-bolts were the same size as used in the 1954 3100 cab mounts (I had 3 different mounting kits for that size/year truck).

The large thick rubber/composition pad between the front cab and the frame perch for the front of the cab was the same dimensions as used on the pickup. However, I had 3100 mounting kits from different vendors, and the size (length/width of the square) of the pads differed between kits.

The shackle bars and bolts were different. The 3100 shackles had two plates and two bolts. The 54/55 COE shackles had one plate with holes and the other plate with two bolts integral to the plate. There was a metal ferrule over each bolt and the rubber bushings fit over the ferrules. I was able to use the bushings with my old rear shackle hardware.

I'll double check and post corrections, if I am wrong.

I don't recall any pads. As Tim commented, the standard bushing sold for the pick up cab shackle fit perfect (obtained from Jim Carter). I just media blasted them, painted, fit the new bushings and re-installed.

Thank you Tim, I welded the shackle, took out the pads and reassembled it and all is good now, it lifted the cab up about 2 inches from where it was, the rubber bushing were tight and I greased them up and made them move once again , with one side broke the cab was slide over because the other side was pushing it over and down, so whoever had this COE just put pads under the frame and the cab to kind of help it. Cab sits straight now and still bouncy but I think that's the nature of cabovers, Thank you for you input, Dan

Thank you Kent, that's the same mount I have except mine was in two pieces , I was glad to see another mount and how they are to look , I didn't know if mine was bent or not, Thank you! Dan
