For a street rodder who wishes to replace the bench seat with buckets, center console, etc., the stock seat base/internal floor support is obviously undesirable.
I would love to hear from you and see pictures of any modifications you may have done to replace or work with the stock seat base.

My front seat is actually a rear late model suburban seat. So my seat needed a riser to accommodate the tranny hump that was in the burb. Mine is a Task Force truck, but maybe this gives you an idea for yours. I installed two buckets from a 2006 Audi and a custom center console.
I built an intermediate mounting frame that was bolted to the truck (making sure to use the original anchor points). Then the sets were mounted to the intermediate frame. I used 3/4" rectangular tubing. If I ever go back to the original seat, it is a simple swap since nothing was changed on the floor anchoring points (they are used to mount the intermediate frame).
