I'm having a disagreement with the supplier about the stock pedal height. Can someone get me the vertical dimension from the floor to the center of the pedal pad and also the horizontal from the point where the toe board and firewall meet? My pedal is way to high. | | | | | Joined: May 2006 Posts: 8,351 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: May 2006 Posts: 8,351 | I got 9" from the floor to the center of the pedal pad, and 10 1/2" from the firewall/toeboard junction to the top edge of the bottom of the pedal pad. Mine is still setup with the stock type master cylinder and pedal.

Is this kit the kind that uses the orig brake pedal arm or does it include the pedal arm? Is it an undercarriage/frame mount or a firewall mount? The kind that mounts to original MC bracket, and uses the orig pedal arm, are fixed position and accurately located kits. This is the type I have used several times on TF with good luck.

The height from the floor is ok. It's the horizontal distance from the firewall that's the problem.tgere is no adjustment but the arm does curve at the bottom and it looks like it would be perfect if it just went straight. | | | | | Joined: May 2005 Posts: 8,983 Sir Searchalot | | Sir Searchalot Joined: May 2005 Posts: 8,983 | The only kit I've used is 5559BB2. Sounds like you have under dash/firewall unit. Pedal should match clutch pedal if you have one. Is there not a stop adjustment for the up position/brakes off position? It sounds like pedal coming up to high. Check to see what stops pedal, linkage length, a mechanical stop...? I guess I'm asking the same question and comment as Bill already did.

I turned it all the way down and it lowered the pedal about an inch but it needs to go some more. I may just cut off the bottom of it and weld on a nice wide GM power brake pedal. | | | | | Joined: May 2005 Posts: 8,983 Sir Searchalot | | Sir Searchalot Joined: May 2005 Posts: 8,983 |
