I need some help I need to know if anybody knows where I can get metal front fenders and running boards for my truck. All I can find are fiberglass ones and I don't know if the the running boards for pickups will work for my dump truck? Any help would be great thanks guys!!!! | | | | | Joined: Dec 2011 Posts: 99 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Dec 2011 Posts: 99 | Can you advise if any other years besides 40 are the same. Also 1 1/2 ton or 2? Retired in Phoenix. Nothing but sunshine. No rust allowed. I'll look and holler if I can find some. | | | | | Joined: Nov 2010 Posts: 1,159 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Nov 2010 Posts: 1,159 | Post an ad in Truck Round-Up mag. The publication is up-dated monthly, and is nation-wide. you may find a complete truck, rather than just fenders, for about the same price! There's a guy in Ottertail,Mn. that advertises in there regularly. He always has trucks from the late '30's,on up into the '50's. [censored] and Mike's Hotrod Garage may have a set, too, but those guys are RETAIL!! They usually want $2,000,or better, for a non-running "Big Bolt". That's the thing...Some guys are reasonable, and some guys want BIG BUCKS,just because you want/need their parts. Good Luck!! | | | | | Joined: Jan 2013 Posts: 1,384 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jan 2013 Posts: 1,384 | I had been looking for a front fender for the 48 2 ton, big bolt stuff is hard to find. Private sellers like you find in the forums or classified don't like to ship body parts. Hard to pack, easy to damage and Expensive to ship. found 2 sellers on ebay. one from Texas, Crazy expensive, one from Kansas Reasonable price for no rust / no dents.
Got some other body pans that weren't listed so they seemed to have a lot of parts. Shipping was $200! Bulky items.
