The speedometer bezel has a raised rim near the center. After screwing the bezel to the housing a chrome and painted trim piece sits inside the recess created by the raised rim and the needle is then pressed on over this trim piece. (I hope I've oriented you to where the raiser rim is located). Anyway, the refacing decal makes no allowance for the raised rim. It seems to me that if I try to place decal on the face and make the decal form to the raised rim that I will end up with wrinkles. What do I do? Any input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Cut out the decal with the backing on to separate it from the rest of the sheet. Disassemble the gauge, and paint the raised areas with some sort of marking that will transfer. Press the decal gently over the needle post until it marks the outline of the raised part on the backing sheet. Cut the decal along that outline with a hobby knife, then peel off the backing and apply the decal to the gauge face. | | |
