I would like to know if there was a trim tag of some type on them to distinguish if it's a real Cameo truck?

I had checked into this before and got the same answer, but the guy had me questioning myself. | | | | Joined: Feb 2012 Posts: 112 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Feb 2012 Posts: 112 | The 55 and 56 i believe chevy trucks were available with a cameo option. As such they are not noted in the VIN nor on titles.. they were a 3100 model truck. In 57 they became a model (3124) and were noted as such in VIN and titles.

All 3100 series, 1955.2, are H255 which makes it difficult. A factory installed vin tag for the 55 Cameo, should at least be H255. There were a little over 5000 or so produced in 1955. http://auto.howstuffworks.com/1955-1957-chevrolet-trucks4.htm
