I've been wanting to add a 3rd brake light for some time now, scored an original Hollywood Accessories Safty-Lite A while back off Ebay. Finally got around to installing it, plus a set of leds under the tailgate.
Hopefully, now people following me will get the message when I'm slowing down/stopping! cool

So far, it seems to be working very well. I've noticed folks staying further back from me at stops. I'm going to chalk this one up as a good investment and addition to the truck.
In addition, I didn't mention this in my earlier post, but I did do a slight modification to the Safty-Lite. Instead of the single 1156 bulb that it came with, I have installed 60 leds (6 strips with 10 leds apiece) to get more even and brighter illumination. The strips I used are made by Alpena, and are very bright. The strip under the tailgate is also made by Alpena. If anyone is interested to see how it's setup, I can pull the cover and lens and get a pic or two of it.

I have the same ( "S T O P" Light, which has been kicking around for years in my Parts Pile...been thinking of adding it to the rear top on mine too.

Every little bit helps! Especially with all the 'texting' SUV people now.

Leds with lens removed. The strips have a very strong 3M adhesive on the backside, just made sure the surface was perfectly clean before I put them in. Once they were stuck down, they were stuck solid. I have the run staggered, with 3 of them wired to the left, 3 to the right.
Here they are on.

Thank you

That worked out well for that stop light, and looks great.

I'm going to convert an old second set of lights on my truck but they are round.

The leds I used are made to be able to be cut to size, and they do carry them in their regular output line in smaller lengths. I sourced mine from Autozone and Advance Auto.
