on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Sep 2010 Posts: 695 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Sep 2010 Posts: 695 | Guys, I used black DTM Epoxy Primer on my disassembled Cab and would have used reducer with it for the sealer... only, I ran out of the primer before I could get to that stage. The Primer is Kustom Shop from TCP Global. Question is, should I order some more of the same brand or can I use a different brand for the sealer? Thanks in advance! I don't worry about brand matching epoxy primer/sealers with finish coat. I do try to match brands on base/clear or lacquer primer/finish coat. | | | | | Joined: Jul 2002 Posts: 166 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jul 2002 Posts: 166 | I used PPG epoxy primer on my 37 and switched to DuPont for the regular primer & top coats with no problems. I had to switch as my local PPG dealer went out of business. The DuPont dealer told me there would be no problem & I haven't noticed any.

The rule of thumb with epoxy is you can cover it with just about anything. You should check your tech sheet to rule out anything specific otherwise do what you need to do.
Good luck

I ordered the same brand to be safe (before reading all the response posts). It delayed me a couple of days but at least I finished the project before the weekend was over and I don't have to worry about it (brand mixing). I really did underestimate how much primer and paint I would need to paint the truck!
