Has anyone recommendations for a good repair and maintenance manual for all years of the 250 CID engine. Ive looked at Chilton and Haynes car and truck manuals but they are mostly about V8s and pollution control.

You might check Amazon, they have some books on rebuilding the Chevy 6 (194, 230, 250 and 292) engines.

Go here, click on the engine section. Pontiac, Olds, and Chevrolet all used the 250 engine.

Thanks joe. Great looking truck you have. I see you have the same engine and transmission in it as my 53 1/2 ton. My problem is a PO put in an alternator and power steering pump that doesn't line up with the crank pulley. The engine is a 75 but am told my dead water pump is out of a 78 and have no idea what the rest of the components are. I shall muddle through.

I put a power steering on my 230 in my Nova that came from a v-8. The pulley didn't line up. Took the pulley off and turned it around and it lined up then.
