The guy I bought the LCF from had a 51 parts truck that he had to dispose of also and offered it at scrap iron price. It has 6 of the 3 piece GM wheels. They are getting to be hard to find. It's very original and I'm sure I'll find stuff on it I can use. I've got a 53 and a 54 two ton. The 54 has Firestone R-H5° wheels that I want to get rid of. I forklifted the old girl into the shop and removed the wheels and now have her sitting on blocks in the back of the yard.

Nice find,Ken! The wheels alone were worth the price! What is it,Chevy,or G.M.C.? "Knowing" you, more than likely G.M.C.! That L.C.F. looks like it's in pretty decent shape! your "parts Trucks", look like my truck before I started working on it!

It is indeed a GMC with a 248 that appears to have never had the pan off. I now have a picture posted.

Appears to be in pretty decent shape,as far as lack of dings! nice patina! looks a lot like the '54 6400 I just sold for a friend,to a fellow "Bolter",who's TRYING to restore a '55 1st-series bus! That truck had all 6 3-piece rims,as well as the axles he wanted,engine,(261,FREE,I mean it turns over),SM 420,springs,ETC ETC ETC... I told him that if he were to buy these parts individually,it would've been $$$,but now with a complete donor,he can work on it,without wasting time and money scouting for parts! The cab's going on an S-10 frame,so nothing's going to waste! The P.O.'s HAPPY,too!! He got a little better than scrap price, and only had to load it! Here in Iowa, you have to remove the fuel tank, and take the rims back with you,(if you still have the tires mounted). Plus, you have to have it titled for salvage.Mo' Money!!
