For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Oct 2011 Posts: 15 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Oct 2011 Posts: 15 | when I park the truck (52 Chev 1/2 ton PU)on any angle to the side, even a slight grade, gas leaks out of the gas cap. I believe it generally occurs when the tank is full. Any way to stop the leak or is it just the nature of the truck? | | | | | Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,269 Bubba - Curmudgeon | | Bubba - Curmudgeon Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,269 | Gas expands as it gets warmer. In warm weather, gas in the ground storage tank is usually cooler than in the truck tank. A full tank of gas could easily expand enough to result in overflow.
