Howdy all! I got a 1959 chevy suburban, the 3rd member in the rear axle is toast! Can a 3rd member out of a 1964 Chevy 1/2 ton bolt right in?

If you mean the ring and pinion assy, don't believe so. The 64 is a "C" clip installation and the 59 is not. You can put the whole 64 rear end on with moving the purches and adapting the Ebrake. I think 59 is 10 bolt and 64 is 12 bolt. 64 is very close to 59 WMS-WMS.

That is correct, the parts do not interchange. The '55-'62 rear does use C clips for axle retention, though, and the ring gear is 12 bolt with a 9 3/8" diameter. The only parts that will directly interchange are the C clips, and the spider gears can be swapped if 30 spline aftermarket axle shafts are swapped in.
