Is this a better choice than my 216? | | | | | Joined: Feb 2004 Posts: 29,742 Kettle Custodian (pot stirrer) | | Kettle Custodian (pot stirrer) Joined: Feb 2004 Posts: 29,742 | It's almost a bolt-in, just some possible issues with front motor mount adapting and an the position and length of the water pump. Both concerns are solved pretty easily. A post-1954 235 has a different, and "better" in the opinion of some people oiling system for the connecting rods, also slightly more horsepower than the 216. You'll have to drill the front engine plate or transfer the 216 one for the front crossmember and you'll have to use the 216 bellhousing for an easier fit. It's a good swap I think if you want to do it.

Also with the water pump relocation plate you can use water pump from the 216 in it's original position. | | | | | Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 2,832 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 2,832 | And BE SURE to make it where all the timing cover bolts screw in from the front.
