So I have been driving my 53 every day w/216. Block was cracked, so I did the 235 upgrade, Its a 55 hydraulic lifter motor, Williams headers, Langdon's webers, Dual exhaust out the back, Flowmaster 2 stage mufflers. Runs AMAZING! Don't even drive my big block 56 anymore. T5 too!

Here's how it sounds

Read every day here. Learned a lot from Stovebolt. Thanks...Phil

Thanks for the report, Phil

Your set-up looks very nice.

Those dual Carter-Webers seem to be a nice match to a 235 engine.

Is there a PCV system, or are you referring to the dual lines in the intake manifold (presumably for the vacuum wiper)? Either way, it would be interesting to read a explanation/description and see more pic (as requested by Scot).

Phil-
Thanks for posting the exhaust sound video with your set-up. Sounds great & that engine doesn't look to shabby either.

Good work!

Thank you all for nice comments. My methods are not like a lot here sadly. I build on a budget and have no patience. Some of the things I may do are wrong and I learn thru trial and error and what I read here and on my tri-five forum. I read alot here, ALOT and sometimes don't answer questions because there are so many that are so much more experienced than I and I never want to possibly feed someone wrong info.
That said, I will show you my simple PCV setup and will try to accept any criticism!

My dad used to tell me about crankcase ventilation and how basically it is just some blow by that gets a second chance to burn.
He would say you need to suck out the bad air and have good air coming in. He would then take a sip of his beer, take a deep breath, and tell me to pull his finger. He would then say, something like that. At 8 years old, I always thought that was funny. Oh well, bottom line, I used to listen to everything he said.

Pete, the beer cover is not a decal. Its a 24oz can I cut and tie wrapped onto the column to block that little slotted hole.
Scott, below are pics you asked for, hope it helps...
Brad, thanks. I posted sound because some always want to know how it would sound. I had a hard time making a decision on this. Overall, I'm happy. Most use glass packs. I get amazing rat tat tat on acceleration in 1st 2nd and 3rd. Love it.
Tim, you have helped me in the past, thanks...

Now I have seen some complain of oil pulling thru and having to raise the PCV valve. No problem, use a piece of pipe or something, try different lengths till you get it right! Phil

You wont get any criticism from me. Its how mine is set up pretty much and works great. You have a really nice engine setup there.

I like your beer can whimsy. Shows a good sense of humor.
Thought my Dad and older brother were the only guys to use "pull my finger" trick. grin
