So I started the truck for the first time post resto. at idle the needle is in the middle, when the engine revs, it goes to discharge. The needle movement is tied to the engine speed. The more rpm, the more the needle moves toward "D". Any thoughts?

With the engine off, turn on the lights. If the meter goes to charge You have the connections on the back of the amp meter reversed or the bat hooked up to pos. ground.

They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. Same thing.
