Lots of work on Brad's part ... pure enjoyment (and references) for you!

For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Nov 2012 Posts: 256 Haunting the SBP since 2001 | | Haunting the SBP since 2001 Joined: Nov 2012 Posts: 256 | We have a few of those kits laying around also. http://oi58.tinypic.com/52zakw.jpgNever actually installed one because they are rather bulky and stick out like a sore thumb. I would imagine that they would be easy to break off if you are loading or unloading anything big into the van. I prefer to use a standard truck dome lamp mounted in the rear load area as they are flush with the roof and have a cleaner look. http://oi60.tinypic.com/1z4gvaf.jpg | | | | | Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 Cruising in the Passing Lane | | Cruising in the Passing Lane Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 | I'd mount one of those originals on a door so it aimed toward the sill when the door was open or mount it on the 'rail' at the top of a side, less easy to knock around either place

I'll probably just install a dome light like the original one up front. 1951 3100 Chevrolet1951 Chevrolet Suburban CarryallImage"A house is built with boards and beams. I do not think that either poster with parts intended to use this forum/thread to sell parts. Other members have other opinions on motivations - these opinions are not pertinent to this thread.
Posting information about parts (part numbers and photos) is beneficial to all of us (now and in the future).
Brad, thank you for showing us an interesting, odd, and uncommon part.
