He says the 235 is stuck and he was going to put another engine in but not enough time or money for the project. I did find someone selling a running 1957 235 with a powerglide. Looking through past posts it seems there are differences between the 235's especially in car/truck applications. Would the 57 235 work in the 61 C10 with the 3 speed? | | | | | Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 1,248 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 1,248 | According how the '61 235 is mounted in the truck frame. If it has the front mount and clutch housing mounts like the earlier trucks, then you'd need to swap the front plate and the clutch housing with the '57 engine you are installing. You would also need to a pilot bearing in the crankshaft flange for the input shaft of the transmission. And of course change the flywheel from the '61 engine.
