I know this subject has been talked about extensively but I want to be clear about what I am about to do.
I want to change the rear end ratio of my 48 3/4 to a ratio that will allow me to drive at higher speeds. I found a differential from a 1962 Chevy C-10. Will it bolt into the HO52 on my 1948 3/4?

no, you'll be looking at swapping in a different rear

Thank you all,
I didn't want to make another dumb purchase, I already have 2 (two) rear ends in the backyard that didn't work out for me!

I know that the narrow chevy 1 ton won't work, I have it sitting out back now.
I am trying a 1971 f250 next, I'll let you know how I make out.
My 3600 rearend needs pinion bearings. One is $160 and the other is $450... Ouch
